PPI Special FX palette:
I bought this palette and received it last Monday and I played with it and was amazed at how versatile the colors were and how easy it was to use them with a sponge or a brush. I was able to create bruises on my arms that were very realistic. It's a product that is smart in the way that it lets us be intuitive with the way it works. You use 99% alcohol (ONLY 99%) and either spray in the color you want or spray the tool you are using. This is the first palette I bought from PPI on the recommendation of Ally who works at CRC but this is not the last one. I really love it and it's great to build my FX kit.
Graftobian wax works and bruises kit:
received this great kit this week on Monday and have had the time to "play" with it and get to know more about the way it works. with the wax, I created a false scar that I build more using the liquid latex (it comes with a brush) and when it looked the way I wanted (my scar), I ripped the latex with a spatula and used the blood to make it realistic. I also used my PPI Special FX palette. I recommend this kit for someone who is starting FX, whether for fun or for work. Because in my next order, there will be a big bottle of liquid latex and some type of wax and more blood.
CS Super sealer:
I have tried soo many makeup sealer in my job as a makeup-artist but this one from Cinema Secret is the best I've ever encountered. It's been very hot and humid in Quebec where I'm from and it was hard for my makeup not to melt off my face but when I used it everyday since I got it (Monday the 4 of august), my makeup stays on ALL day until "I" decide to remove it. You don't need to spray yourself 8 times like with other makeup sealer I've tried before. One spray before applying my makeup and letting it dry and one spray when I'm done keeps me oil free and with a clean face ALL day. I bought the refill size and I already put in in a spritz bottle and will keep this in my kit forever and will repurchase as soon as I see that I don't have much left. Thanks CS for this product and Camera ready cosmetics for the great advice when I asked about the product and it was recommended. Like every time, you guys are right when it comes to the products you carry. I'm very happy and it was less expensive than all the other sprays I've tried before. That's a plus when you are a freelance makeup-artist.
La femme Cake mascara:
As a freelance makeup artist, I have clients allergic to latex. I wanted to carry an mascara option for them. I tried it few times since I bought it and I'm amazed how much it coats my lashes and there is no clumps. I bought the sealer to make it waterproof and assure that it was going to stay all day. I always test products on myself before using them on my clients. I may use it on clients who don't have a latex allergy but that are not used to wearing mascara. This will be easy for them to wear on their lashes and I had no problem with it drying. I curled my lashes before and applied it after with a disposable wand. I give the product 10/10 and with the sealer, it's 12/10.
Cinema Secret eyeliner sealer:
I bought the SC eyeliner sealer to use with my La femme cake mascara. It's an amazing sealer that keeps the mascara on all day and it waterproofs it. I will get a cake eyeliner for my kit and will already have the sealer that goes with it hand in hand. It's the perfect product to use with the La femme cake mascara and I used it with a regular eyeliner and it made it last all day. (I have non-waterproof eye liners in my pro kit and my personal kit) This product is AWESOME!
Bdelium tools SFX 12 brushes kit with pouches:
I've been building my FX kit and wanted to get the best brushes made for FX makeup. I looked up the Bdellium tools SFX 12 brushes set and fell in love. When it arrived, it didn't disappoint me. I knew I was going to like it but I LOVE it. There's a brush for everything and it comes with these 2 awesome robust pouches. I put my 12 brushes in 1 of them and in the other one, I put several smaller FX products and I can clip them together. It's well worth the investment to have the right tools especially when you are doing detailed work as SFX. I used these this week when I created wounds and looks on myself with the rest of the products I ordered and they were fantastic. I highly recommend this kit for makeup artist who want to do special FX. Bdellium tools is a great brand of makeup brushes. I'm giving this kit a 10/10.
Mehron ADMED adhesive remover:
I'm happy I bought this adhesive removers because it was very useful this week when I tested latex and other adhesives. This took care of them all and even the wax that is sticky and hard to remove. It's a must-have product in an SFX kit for any makeup artist or SFX lover. This is going to be useful for every SFX makeup I'll do when I'll use adhesives. Highly recommend.
MAQPRO fard flashy palette:
When I got the palette, I couldn't imagine how pigmented this small kit was. I tried several of the colors when doing fake injuries on myself with the rest of my SFX products and these fards gave me great pigmentation and it's not going to take too much place in my kit, which is always a positive thing. I highly recommend the MAQPro flashy palette for the pigmentation and the price.
Ben nye stage blood:
I bought a smaller size of the blood to test it out. It looked realistic and didn't taste bad at all. I will get a bigger size of this stage blood and also the BN thicker blood, I want both options. Overall, I'm really satisfied and I think for starting in SFX it's awesome. (the size) But it looks soo realistic, I am very happy with this product.
Ben nye clown white makeup:
I bought it recently and tested it on a side of my face and it didn't take a loot to give me FULL coverage (white, totally). I'm very happy with the product and can't wait to play with it more. As a makeup-artist, all of my products are things I play with when it's something new. Playing as in testing it out. Great product and it took such a small amount to cover half of my adult face. It was great!
Ben Nye effects gels kit:
I bought the big kit containing the 3 gels in the 2 oz bottles. This week I used one of them (the flesh tone one) and created something very creepy with in on my arm. I used a bain-marie (double-boiler) to heat up the gel and there was no problem with that method and it was easy to heat. It's such an amazing thing to work with. you can do soo much wih it. I used it in conjunction with my PPI FX palette and my MAQpro flashy palette and my wounds were very realistic. This is a must have in a makeup artist special FX kit.
This is not going to be my last order. I love love my CRC and won't go elsewhere because when you have the best, why go look anywhere else? https://camerareadycosmetics.com
